SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE, ANYWHERE—BUT USING AN AED WITHIN THE FIRST MINUTE CAN INCREASE SURVIVAL RATES BY UP TO 90%!

OUR
STORY
Carrying on a Legacy of Love and Service
Our story begins with Julie Lynch—a woman whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, and a heart for helping others. Julie touched countless lives through her service, and when she passed away unexpectedly, her family knew they had to keep that spirit alive.
Nathan and Nicole Lynch founded In a Heartbeat to honor Julie’s legacy and make a difference where it matters most: saving lives. They started by addressing the very thing that took Julie from us—lack of access to life-saving equipment.
Why AEDs Are So Important
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) can restart a heart and increase survival rates by up to 70% if used within the first few minutes of cardiac arrest. On August 19, 2011, Julie suffered a heart attack without access to an AED and passed away that night. If an AED had been nearby, things could have been different.
That’s why we’re here—to share Julie’s story and turn heartbreak into hope. Our mission is simple: make AEDs accessible in places where families gather—sports fields, community centers, and public spaces—so no one has to face what we did.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Every heartbeat matters. Every life is worth saving. Together, we can make public spaces safer and give families hope when it matters most.
Help us turn Julie’s legacy into a movement—because in a heartbeat, everything can change.
OUR TEAM
Meet the Lynch Family
Nathan brings years of leadership experience and a heart for service. When he’s not working, you’ll find him coaching softball or volunteering in the community. Nicole is just as dedicated—supporting women’s shelters and advocating for children in foster care—all while raising four amazing daughters who share her passion for giving back.
Vivienne and Audrey, two of those daughters, are already making an impact as our Social Media Manager and Webmaster. Vivienne even helped secure our first AED donation in 2024 through her cheer gym, Phoenix Elite—a proud milestone for In a Heartbeat.
